Abby Jeanne

July 14th, 2017

"Not surprisingly, the most impressive element of ‘Rebel Love’ is the immense vocal talent of Abby Jeanne. The amount of soul and emotion that she holds in her vocal performances on this album is apparent throughout the entire project. To have technical abilities as a vocalist is one thing, but to convey such power through vocals in the way that she does is no small feat."- 88.9 Radio Milwaukee.

Marah in the Mainsail

July 21st, 2017

Cinematic is the word most often used to describe Marah in the Mainsail's sound. Precise yet primitive jungle drums set the stage for the eclectic and powerful ensemble to sweep you away into their haunting world. Like oil and water, Durry's gravel voice alongside Mariah Mercedes’s crystal clarity form a stirring, yet beautiful contrast. All being thrust forward by aggressive percussion, growling bass, and soaring brass. Their lyrics paint a thrilling picture of monsters and ghosts, murderers and thieves, love and guilt, and everything in between.

GOLDFORD

July 28th, 2017

It all starts with a voice. And after hearing the emotive, gritty and always soulful sound of GoldFord, it is clear that a voice like this is rare.

There’s something wonderfully original about Goldford. Beautifully blending classic and modern styles into a catchy cocktail of pop and soul. He is one part Sam Smith, one part Ed Sheeran with a splash of Sam Cooke.

GoldFord’s debut album “Shed a Little Light,” released in the fall of 2013, received immediate recognition by The Huffington Post and now has over 31 million spins on Pandora, over 2 million streams on Spotify, and is receiving airplay on KCRW. Goldford has also landed several impressive licensing placements with Netflix, Jeep, HBO, Belk, etc. and has recently shared the stage with the American Authors, X Ambassadors, The Mowgli’s, Icona Pop, and Michael McDonald.

Gabe Dixon & Tony Lucca

August 4th, 2017

Over the past few years, Gabe Dixon changed almost everything. The Nashville-based troubadour focused on starting from scratch following the release of 2011’s One Spark. He parted ways with his longtime management and record label Concord Music Group, and he began feverishly penning ideas. However, the one thing that didn’t change was that honest, heartfelt approach to songwriting that countless fans fell in love with when he first emerged in 1999.

To multiple generations of emerging and established artists, Nashville is nirvana, a music mecca, a fulcrum for serious songwriters who don’t just make music for a living, but for whom music is life. For years now, Tony Lucca has had the energy and spirit of Music City coursing through his veins, a seemingly life-sustaining flow of inspiration that in part served as the lifeblood for the writing, recording and producing of his current self-titled album, the eighth full-length studio set in his notable canon. “When you go into a writing session, you gotta know who you’re writing for… and then you dig in,” says Lucca, who at this stage in his career has become a seasoned songsmith. “I learned a lot right off the bat, because again, doors were flying open for me that would of otherwise stayed shut.”

Bassel and The Supernaturals

August 18th, 2017

"Bassel Almadani doesn't want audiences to just have a good time getting down at shows. He wants fans to leave Bassel & the Supernaturals shows with a sense of connection and, perhaps, new political awareness. The bandleader of the contemplative indie-funk ensemble is first-generation Syrian-American and has been using the band's shows and releases to benefit humanitarian efforts in war-torn Syria." - Jessica Hopper

Listening Party

August 25th, 2017

Americana/Folk rock trio out of Milwaukee, WI that has put their own twist on acoustic music. Stories of love and personal struggle are presented playfully and performed sincerely by singer-songwriter, Weston Mueller. He is complemented by crafty musicianship from mates Joshua Hester (Mandolin, Guitar, Bass) and Jacob Wood (piano, vocals); former California surf rock bassist and music education teacher, respectively.
Recently, they have been featured on NPR and also are repeat performers at Summerfest (headlined by Third Eye Blind, Michael Franti, Collective Soul and Pentatonix) and Mile of Music.
"Folk band the Listening Party is just a three-piece band, but the eight tracks on its self-titled album are sonically expansive and emotionally rich...every note and expression is full of feeling." - Piet Levy, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Sidewalk Chalk

September 1st, 2017

...it's easy to sample Charles Mingus, but it's far harder to make music that Mingus would have liked."

- Afropunk

"There is some serious Native Tongues flavor injector into their well-rounded 8-piece of Midwestern funk."

- Okayplayer

"While many bands strive hard for originality, it's unlikely that any of them could best Sidewalk Chalk..."
